At Esquire, it goes without saying that we’re always thrilled to pore over the handiwork of our favorite brands. Because that’s our job. But it’s exceedingly rare that we get to have a say in how their clothes are made in the first place. We would never have presumed to ask. But somehow, back before Covid we got to collaborate with Anderson and Sheppard on a a functional, luxurious travel jacket. The result was what A&S were been kind enough to call “The Esquire jacket”; if you’re a fan, you can own one.

The detailing borrows heavily from British military jackets included the shirt collar, 4 inverted pleat pockets, button cuffs and an inverted pleat and half belt at the back for ease of movement. The design process involved transatlantic cloth sampling across and regular trying-on sessions (with Negronis) in London, New York and Florence, of samples developed in-house by expert A&S tailors, before the final ready-to-wear prototypes were made up – of course - in Italy.
